CAGAYAN – A memorandum of agreement (MOA) has been signed between the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), a provincial inter-agency committee on the rehabilitation of Cagayan River, and two private parties to dredge the longest river in the Philippines.

The MOA for the Cagayan River Restoration Project (CRRP) was signed on Thursday, December 10, in Tuguegarao City by DENR Cagayan Valley Regional Executive Director Gwendolyn C. Bambalan, Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba, as chairperson of the inter-agency committee on the CRRP, and officials of Great River North Consortium Inc., and Riverfront Construction Inc.

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan: Two dredging companies have forged an agreement with the Philippine government on Thursday to rehabilitate the heavily silted Cagayan River for free and without any expenses to be incurred by the government, according to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)
Signatories to the memorandum of agreement (MoA) on the Cagayan River Restoration Project (CRRP) Antonio Talaue, Great River North Consortium (GRNC) managing head, and Feng Li, Riverfront Construction Inc. (RCI) president. Representing the DENR was Executive Region 2 Director Gwendolyn Bambalan of Cagayan Valley.
âThe proponents will be shouldering all the expenses related to the dredging activities,â Bambalan said.
