The Riverside Co. said it has signed a definitive agreement to sell Pennsylvania-based portfolio company Greenphire, a provider of clinical payment technology in the health care sector, to Thoma Bravo, a Chicago private equity firm.
Financial terms of the deal, slated to close during the second quarter of this year, were not disclosed.
Riverside acquired the company, based in King of Prussia, Pa., in 2014. The investment came after the company s founding in 2008.
Greenphire optimizes clinical trial performance by streamlining financial management, payment and logistical workflows. Riverside said that under its ownership, the company expanded its work to clinics and other research organizations working with patients in more than 70 countries.

The Riverside Co. has acquired Marine Fire Sales & Service Inc. of Toledo as the latest add-on for its CertaSite fire and life safety platform company.
The acquisition marks the 12th related tuck-in for the platform since initial investments were made in 2018. Riverside established CertaSite itself, which represents a family of companies headquartered in Indianapolis, in 2019. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Riverside Co. announced an acquisition of STACS DNA, a Canadian software company, as an add-on to its Baltimore-based InVita Healthcare Technologies platform company, which specializes in supply chain solutions in the health care industry.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
STACS, founded in 2000, provides sample tracking and lab management software used by forensic DNA labs and health care organizations, according to the firm. There is immense growth potential that will come from adding STACS DNA to our InVita investment, and we re thrilled for the opportunity to work with an already high-performing company, said Riverside managing partner Loren Schlachet in a statement. STACS DNA s products fit within our broader thesis of providing niche medical specialty software, helping to connect and coordinate multiple constituents in the supply chain. They also fit well into our software suite of products addressing elements from the human body.
