China has parked its fishing fleet in waters claimed by the Philippines. Filipino President Rodrigo Duterte has fulminated ineffectively. So far, at least, the Biden administration has declined to go to war on Manila’s behalf. But the possibility remains so long as the U.S. foolishly guarantees Philippine security.
Indeed, some things never change. One is the limited value of the Philippines as an ally. Its people are friendly and welcoming – and quite pro-American. GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ Gloucester Township will appoint a council president and council vice president during Monday night s reorganization meeting at the municipal building, 7:30 p.m.
Under Gloucester Township s form of government, members of council are elected by the public. Council members then choose a council president and council vice president from among their membership.
There were no elections in Gloucester Township last year, but the nominations of council president and vice president take place annually. Orlando Mercado is the current council president, and Tracey Trotto is the current vice president.
