SpaceX has revealed the flight plan for the first orbital test launch of the company’s huge stainless steel Starship rocket, a 90-minute, around-the-world mission that will originate from South Texas and culminate with a controlled re-entry and splashdown in the Pacific Ocean near Hawaii.
SpaceX has revealed the plans for the Starship rocket booster’s first orbital test flight. The mission, which was revealed in a filing to the Federal Communication Commission, will have the craft launch from Texas and land off the coast of a Hawai’ian island. The flight would be the first time both SpaceX’s rocket parts would be used together, and which could eventually take humans to Mars. The booster stage, the 70-meter tall Super Heavy, will.

On May 5, SpaceX achieved a major breakthrough in its efforts to develop a reusable space transportation system. The company launched and then safely landed its SN15 Starship prototype. It was the spacecraft’s fifth attempt, and the only one to be a total success from start to finish. No explosions this time. But SpaceX isn’t taking it slowly before moving onto the next stage of its mission. It has already filed paperwork with the Federal Communications Commission to send its Starship into orbit.

The next SpaceX Starship prototype will be sent into orbit, launching from Texas and making a soft ocean landing off the coast of Hawaii, an FCC filing revealed.
The Elon Musk-owned space firm hasn t confirmed when they will launch the prototype, but the filing revealed the flight will last about 90 minutes.
SpaceX has completed a number of tests on the 160ft tall rocket, which is about the size of a 16-story building, with the most recent, SN15, landing on the launch pad.
The next version will be bigger still, standing at 400ft tall thanks to the the Super Heavy booster that will lift the spaceship into orbit before separating and falling back to Earth, landing in the Gulf of Mexico 20 miles from shore.
