O’Shea, housebuilder Galliard Homes and retirement property specialist Probitas have joined together to deliver a £40m scheme near Henley-on-Thames.
O’Shea has invested in the development and will also be main contractor on the project that will see 65 retirement homes built across six acres. The scheme in Lower Shipley has a development value of £40m and will see apartments and cottages built on the site, along with landscaped communal gardens and grounds. Construction is scheduled to begin later this year with the first homes completed in 2022.
Galliard executive chairman Stephen Conway (pictured) said the new partnership was targeting the retirement market due to the lack of supply. “By 2050, the UK retirement population is set to double and there needs to be new custom-designed housing with services to meet this demand.”
