WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. (WKBW) â Itâs a victory for parents in the Williamsville and Orchard Park Central School Districts after a State Supreme Court Judge ruled Thursday the Districtâs must provide 5-day per week in-person learning to all studentsânot just those in elementary school.
âKids belong in school 5-days a week,â said Dana Hensley, one of the Williamsville parents behind the lawsuit. âThe most important thing is that the judge listened to both sides and saw that there was no evidence from the state to create these arbitrary rules,â she said.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WKBW) â The Orchard Park Central School District announced on Thursday that it has unanimously appointed David Lilleck as the district s new superintendent.
âI am incredibly honored, humbled, and excited to become the next Superintendent of Orchard Park Central School District. Orchard Park is the community I have chosen to live and raise my family in. My daughter graduated from OPHS in 2019, and my sons are freshmen at OPHS. ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. The effort to reopen Orchard Park and Williamsville schools has taken another turn on Friday.
State Supreme Court Justice Emilio Colaiacovo ordered those two school districts to offer full-time instruction for middle and high schools starting May 17.
There is a catch: the positive COVID-19 data must be at or around 100 cases per 100,000 people in order for that to happen.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. New York State Supreme Court Justice Emilio Colaiacovo is waiting to make a decision on the petition brought by parents of children in the Orchard Park Central School District.
He has ordered the State Department of Health to re-evaluate the guidance mandating students maintain a distance of six feet. He s ordered a response be given to him no later than Friday, April 30 .
The hearing began with Justice Colaiacovo asking the attorney representing the parents a specific set of questions about a study out of Massachusetts. Specifically, the judge asked how the study, would relate to the circumstances in Erie County.

ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. (WKBW) â State Supreme Court Judge Emilio Colaiacovo said he could issue a decision regarding the return to the classroom for five days of in-person learning early next week.
Friday, attorneys representing seven parents from the Williamsville Central School District argued middle and high school students should be able to return to the classroom for a full school week with a mask mandate and three feet of social distance.
