A HOUSEBUILDER has said it will underpin 580 new jobs in Cheshire. 2021 will see Barratt Homes develop new sites in Appleton Cross and Macclesfield start to progress with residents settling into their new homes. It plans to build 290 new properties in the county at its developments: Orchard Meadows and Silk Waters Green phase three. As the housebuilder typically sources local contractors and subcontractors, a total of 580 new jobs have been created across the developments. Neil Goodwin, managing director at Barratt Homes Manchester, said: “As the leading housebuilder, we have an obligation to provide support and facilities for the local community. This can take the form of open spaces for wildlife, playgrounds for children, beneficial amenities for residents or charitable donations for the wider community.
Weston businesses are hoping for a spending spree on April 12.

Weston businesses are optimistic that a summer spending spree is imminent ahead of the reopening of non-essential retail stores on April 12.
In accordance with the UK Government s lockdown roadmap, non-essential stores will be allowed to resume trading from Monday but should only be visited alone or with household groups .
A recent survey carried out by the Mercury suggested the majority of residents were eager to visit the town s high street and this sentiment is shared by North Somerset Council s executive member for the economy.
Cllr Mark Canniford said: The council is offering as much support as it can for businesses to have a successful reopening and will help with licensing for outdoor seating and other arrangements.
