The first session of the 58th Legislature officially began when we gaveled in for the first time on Organizational Day last month, but session resumes on Monday, Feb. 1.
At noon, the governor will give his annual State of the State address, where heâll outline the challenges facing Oklahomans and highlight his top priorities for the session, including the state budget.
Normally, the 101 representatives are joined on the House floor by the 48 senators, other statewide elected officials and members of the Oklahoma Supreme Court.
The House gallery, which is one floor above and offers a view down into the House chamber, is usually full of staffers and visitors.

House of Representatives committee leadership and Republican majority leadership appointments have been made for the 58
th Oklahoma Legislature.
One rookie lawmaker from western Oklahoma was named to a leadership position as well.
District 57 Representative Anthony Moore of Clinton, who was elected to the position in November and just recently sworn in, has been named to serve as vice chair of the Energy and Natural Resources committee. Representative Brad Boles of Marlow will chair the committee.
Also longtime District 55 Representative Todd Russ of Cordell will chair the transportation committee, along side vice chair Representative Nicole Miller of Edmond.
