The WeetBix Kids Tryathlon was set to run at Mitre 10 Park on Tuesday until Auckland s new community cases of Covid-19 plunged it into level 3 and NZ into level 2. About 1500 participants had been preparing for the event which was set to be held at Mitre 10 Park in Hastings. Sanitarium sponsorship manager Nigel Chenery they are very disappointed to be unable to hold the event.

Whanganui Masters Games Trust chairman Leighton Toy said he was really pleased with how the event ran. The whole village environment was really good, but also the support that you get from local businesses and sport co-ordinators was just brilliant, Toy said.
