A potential class action against one of the county s wealthiest schools is ramping up, with more than 60 former Dilworth students joining the legal proceedings.
Papers were filed to the Human Rights Commission last month by two former students who claim the private boarding school failed in its duty of care when it did nothing to stop the sexual abuse of young boys.

Rex McIntosh and Keith Dixon were two of the nine men charged with historical sexual offending in connection with Dilworth School in Epsom, Auckland. According to the police summary of facts filed with the High Court, McIntosh began teaching at Dilworth in 1971. The following year he was made master of a boarding house. He was also the Junior Choir master, an art teacher and diving instructor. McIntosh lasted eight years at the school. The police summary of facts, released to
Stuff, says McIntosh befriended a 13-year-old student and invited him to his home on school grounds after dinner.
