Damir Sasic, 30, of Woonsocket, pled guilty on Oct. 28 to conspiracy to falsify records. He was sentenced in U.S. District Court by Judge Mary S. McElroy. According to a court press release, Sasic was the owner of the now-defunct Sisic Transport Service LLC. During his time as head of the company, he altered the data in electronic logbooks to conceal the number of hours his drivers were behind the wheel and exceed the number of on-duty hours allowed between off-duty periods under federal law. U.S. Attorney Aaron Weisman s office said the tampering happened on thousands of occasions and was a regular occurrence.
