Work to rejuvenate Grays Beach Park underway
EXCITING works to rejuvenate Grays Beach Riverside Park are well under way thanks to a significant contribution from the Grays Town Fund Board, as part of the ongoing multi-million pound transformation of Grays following government and Thurrock Council investment.
Under the government’s £3.6billion Towns Fund, an accelerated cash injection of £750,000 was provided by the board last November and divided between multiple projects in Grays. This funding was offered alongside investment from the council to help transform the area.

Rubbish collections are due to resume tomorrow follow disruption from heavy snow. Following snow and freezing conditions this week, there has been disruption to household refuse collections which has meant that bins and waste has not been collected from many homes in Thurrock. Aaron Watkins, Cabinet member for environment, said: The conditions this week have meant we needed to take a tough decision to temporarily suspend waste collections to prioritise staff safety. Attempts which were made were not possible, with instances of the lorries skidding over ice. The team have been inspecting each morning to assess the conditions and we have made the difficult choice to suspend collections and start afresh on Monday 15 February for a full round of collections, weather permitting.
