Washington is at a tipping point as coronavirus cases rise across the state, putting the state at risk of experiencing a fourth wave.
Even as vaccinations ramp up, about 80% of Washington residents are not yet fully vaccinated, making it important people continue to take steps to keep themselves and their communities safe.
People can t let their guards down yet, Secretary of Health Umair Shah said during a news briefing Wednesday.

About 60,000 Washington highest-risk health care workers have received doses of one of the two Covid vaccines.
“There are some communities here in Washington that have already completed or are very near to completing vaccination of their high-risk workers in health care environments, says Washington Deputy Secretary of Health Lacy Fehrenbach.
She says the state is now making arrangements for others who work in health care settings to also receive vaccinations.
“Today we’ve added a second tier to 1-A that allows for the vaccination of all other workers in health care settings, once those high-risk workers are vaccinated. We acknowledge that some communities are working through 1-A and will still need more time to do this, while others will be able to move forward a little more quickly, she said.
