They depend on adults for their safe, security, sustenance and their life decisions. Keeping them Ignorant about basic realities of life makes them easy prey to criminal elements in the society. We cannot be with our children 24/7 but we can give them skills to assess situations, raise alarm when they feel threatened and take the right decisions at the right time. Life Skills Based Education is designed to do exactly that but we are still reluctant to include it in our mainstream curriculum.
