Hanoi will organize the largest ever Covid-19 vaccination campaign with three options, with the highest number of vaccinations to reach 200,000 per day.
Dr Ngo Khanh Hoang, Deputy Head of the Division of Infectious Diseases Prevention and Control under the Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC), said that the campaign s goal is to organize the fastest vaccination campaign, peaking at 200,000 injections per day.
The requirement is to ensure distancing, to not gather in large groups when organizing vaccinations; and to ensure safe, quality and timely vaccinations for priority groups according to regulations, and fair, transparent and open access to vaccines for the people.

The requirements include a distance of one metre from one customer to another or a shield between them. All restaurants have to use an app to report on their pandemic prevention and control work.
Meanwhile, discos, bars, karaoke shops, online games shops, and sidewalk food stalls will remain closed.
Local authorities have also requested competent agencies to check COVID-19 prevention and control at religious facilities in preparation for their operation resumption.
At the meeting, Deputy Director of the municipal Health Department Hoang Duc Hanh said the pandemic has been basically placed under control, with the city recording no new domestic cases for 14 consecutive days.

Hanoi’s air quality continues worsening
Hanoi’s air pollution has continued worsening in many areas, posing health risks for local residents.
According to the Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the air quality index at the city’s 34 air monitoring stations this morning, January 21 faced extremely severe pollution. Four stations located in Thanh Xuan District, Cau Giay District and Hoan Kiem District had the worst results.
The department’s Environmental Protection Board said that the content of high fine particulate matters of PM 2.5 and PM 10 increased by 1.3-2 times against the day before.
Weather conditions with the thick dense smog and high moisture is among the major causes of the serious pollution in the city, the board added.
Tightening COVID-19 prevention and control measures in Hanoi
On January 21, a meeting of municipal Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control took place in Hanoi to propose measures to tighten COVID-19 prevention and control.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi municipal People’s Committee Chu Xuan Dung has required departments, agencies, mass organisations and people to continue seriously comply with the Prime Minister and municipal authorities’ instructions on strengthening COVID-19 prevention and control.
Mr. Dung particularly asked the public security force to closely monitor entries from abroad and punishing illegal immigrants and violators of pandemic prevention and control regulations, reported VNA.
