ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Faisal Sultan on Wednesday presided over a meeting of the National Steering Committee and announced that the PTI government has decided to launch health cards for the permanent residents of Islamabad and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Dr Faisal Sultan said that in Islamabad, more than 258,000 families will be able to benefit from the government’s Sehat Insaf Card scheme launched under PTI’s Sehat Sahulat Programme.
“Similarly, about 328,00 households in Gilgit Baltistan will be able to get free medical treatment through the heath card facility,” Dr Sultan said.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Faisal Sultan on Tuesday said the government was increasing the country s oxygen production capacity in order to support the country s healthcare amid increasing Covid-19 cases.
While addressing a press conference, the SAPM said Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) oxygen plant would be re-activated to meet the country s oxygen demand.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Health Dr Faisal Sultan on Tuesday blamed bottlenecks in coronavirus vaccine supply for the delay in Pakistan s delivery of the ones it had bought.
Speaking to the media from the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), Dr Sultan dismissed misinformation regarding government s reliance on gifts and donations.
He said that the government has signed contracts with three vaccine companies to secure supplies of the COVID-19 vaccination shots.

Govt, in the light of NCOC s suggestion, has decided to cancel all exams until June 15.
Minister Shafqat Mehmood says O and A level students will be able to appear in their exams in the October/ November session.
An exception applies to A2 students who must take the exams right now following strict coronavirus SOPs, says the minister.
