Jan 6, 2021 Melissa Diaz The COVID-19 outbreak at the Palm View Center has been contained.  The Ministry of Health and Wellness confirmed on Tuesday that twenty-one residents and seven staff tested positive for the deadly virus.  But according to acting Director of Health Services Doctor Melissa Diaz, the index patient has not been identified.  She says that none of those who tested positive is critically ill at the moment and that the center has the full support of the doctors and nurses at the Western Regional Hospital.   Dr. Melissa Diaz, Acting Director of Health Services “With regards to the outbreak that has occurred and was reported yesterday at the Palm Centre in Belmopan, we do not know exactly who the index case is. We do feel that more than likely it could be a staff member or someone coming into the facility as everybody else resides there. So we haven’t really isolate the index case.”
