Health Alliance continues to serve cancer patients Submitted article WILMINGTON The Health Alliance of Clinton County held its second quarterly general meeting at Snow Hill Country Club on Tuesday, April 27. President Staci Close welcomed 18 members and two guests to the dinner meeting. The main topic was a discussion of new opportunities to sponsor fundraising events for 2021, in order to continue to assist the Cancer Patient Assistance Program. The Cancer Patient Assistance Program (CPAP) recognizes and understands the challenges you face when you are informed of a cancer diagnosis. When barriers to your care exist, CPAP is available to provide limited funding to assist you with your treatment.

President Staci Close welcomed new and returning board members Connie Mason, Betty Lou Germann, Linda Madison, Jennifer Hollon, Treasurer Pat Richardson, Cindy Petrich, Kay Fisher, Ann Johnson, Bobbi Jo Schlaegel, Secretary Mary Camp, Dorothy Henry, Joann Chamberlain, Kathy Havey, Frances Sharp and Vice President Patti Cook. The Retreat is a day-long planning session to review the results of our fundraisers in the past year, and to discuss new opportunities to sponsor events for the new year.

HealthFirst to fund 8 local projects Submitted article WILMINGTON – HealthFirst for Clinton County announced they will provide funding for eight local health-related projects that promote the good health of residents in Clinton County through education, innovation, and patient care support. Organizations that will benefit from HealthFirst’s recent grant cycle, which concluded in late December, include the Clinton County Trails Coalition, Blanchester Senior Citizens Center, Clinton County Community Action, Clinton County Regional Planning Commission, Energize Clinton County, Health Alliance of Clinton County, Talbert House Prevention Services in Warren and Clinton Counties, and the United Way of Clinton County. In 2020, HealthFirst for Clinton County has granted more than $111,000 to local organizations to support their health-related projects. The organization also awarded grants to four local organizations for COVID-19 related community projects.
