The QU-Health Interprofessional Education Committee (IPEC) in Qatar University recently organised its fourth Interprofessional activity (IPE) for Spring 2021 as a case-based discussion on COVID-19 Vaccination virtually.
Seventy-four students and nine facilitators attended this event. Professions involved in this activity were Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences, and Public health. The activity’s main objective was to discuss the COVID-19 vaccine and vaccine hesitancy. It was essential to recognize the roles of the various team members and their scope of practice in addressing the controversial issues of vaccine perceptions and misconceptions.
To identify ways to enhance the communication in multidisciplinary teamwork and involve all team members in the decision-making process. Another important objective was to describe evidence-based vaccine cost-effectiveness and burden of disease (vaccine-preventable infections) and outline current licensed COVI
