PASTOR THOM: Out on police bail Former Special Assistant to President Lazarus Chakwera, Pastor Martin Thom and Deputy Director of Debt and Aid at the Ministry of Finance, Nations Msowoya, have been released on Police bail following orders from above. Lawyer Silvester Ayuba James has confirmed the development. Pastor Thom is Chakwera’s best friend after working for close to 15years at the Assemblies of God. The two were arrested earlier today in Lilongwe on allegations that they were behind the smuggling of a Loan Authorisation Bill to Parliament. they only spent two hours in police cell. According to Ayuba James,they have been charged with four counts which are abuse of office, conspiracy to defraud, making false documents without authority and uttering false document.
