For most professions, this is nothing new: More than half of professionals worked remotely at least half the week before the COVID-19 pandemic was declared in March, according to International Workplace Group research. But law firms always do things at their own pace. According to the 2019 ABA TechReport, roughly 70% to 90% of law firms across all sizes other than solo firms primarily utilized traditional office spaces. For solo firms, approximately one-third were home-based.

Eastern Health Seeking Volunteers for Janeway Youth Advisory Council

Dec 13, 2020 9:52 AM Eastern Health is looking for volunteers to join its Youth Advisory Council for the Janeway Children’s Hospital. Amy Howard, the regional director of children’s and women’s health with Eastern Health, says they’re looking for people who have had experiences with the Janeway Hospital to help with their Client and Family-Centred Care Strategy. They’re looking for young people between the ages of 12 and 18 who have had experiences at the Janeway, or who have had a sibling with frequent visits at the children’s hospital. They’re looking at everything from decor to patient interactions with staff and medical professionals. They’ve only had two people come forward to date, and are looking for others to share their thoughts and experiences.

United Way helps nonprofits with donated Electrolux kitchenware Kinston/Jones Free Press (kfp) It’s no secret that small businesses are suffering during the COVID-19 pandemic, and it shouldn’t be a surprise that nonprofits are, too.  Hope Restorations, Inc. executive pastor Chris Jenkins pulled up to the Kinston Community Center Wednesday, Nov. 9, to collect kitchen items donated to Lenoir-Greene United Way by Electrolux to help his non-profit organization.  Electrolux’s corporate office recently contacted United Way to help a community where a local Electrolux plant is located with its Stocking Kitchens With Hope shopping event. The dishwasher manufacturer donated an 18-wheeler truckload of $150,000 worth of kitchenware amid the pandemic to nonprofits of Kinston.
