PITTSBURGH, Feb. 4, 2021 - Researchers at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and the National Cancer Institute (NCI) demonstrate that changing the gut microbiome can transform patients with advanced melanoma who never responded to immunotherapy which has a failure rate of 40% for this type of cancer into patients who do.
The results of this proof-of-principle phase II clinical trial were published online today in Science. In this study, a team of researchers from UPMC Hillman administered fecal microbiota transplants (FMT) and anti-PD-1 immunotherapy to melanoma patients who had failed all available therapies, including anti-PD-1, and then tracked clinical and immunological outcomes. Collaborators at NCI analyzed microbiome samples from these patients to understand why FMT seems to boost their response to immunotherapy.

Last week, Roger Craig Smith announced that he would no longer be voicing Sonic the Hedgehog. When the news broke, fans took to Twitter and showed their love for Smith’s portrayal of Sonic. This resulted in a heartfelt response video from the voice actor, thanking everyone for their support over the years. It now looks like Sega is not only replacing Smith but other Sonic voice actors as well, including for Tails and Amy.
Cindy Robinson, the voice of Amy Rose, has also confirmed on Twitter that she’ll no longer be portraying the character. She confirmed this in the same Twitter thread where Smith announced his retirement from the iconic role. Robinson started voicing Amy in 2010, around the same time as Smith in
Former ROH World Champion and current ROH Tag Team Champion Jay Lethal has signed a new contract to remain with the company.
It was announced on Wednesday that Lethal has re-signed with Ring of Honor. Lethal currently holds the ROH Tag Team titles with ROH Pure Champion Jonathan Gresham and is part of ROH s The Foundation stable with Gresham, Tracy Williams, and Rhett Titus.
Gresham and Williams are also among the wrestlers to have recently re-signed with ROH. Since the start of January, ROH has announced that Mark Haskins, Bandido, Amy Rose, Bateman, Brian Johnson, Sumie Sakai, Williams, The Bouncers (Beer City Bruiser & Brian Milonas), Gresham, and Lethal have re-signed with the promotion.
