Omaha Police Traffic Unit investigators say an eastbound Dodge Journey traveling over the posted 30 mph speed limit ran a red light at 24th and Lake Streets Monday afternoon striking a Z-Trip taxi service Hyundai sedan which was turning under a green arrow from northbound 24th to westbound Lake.
Police say the taxi driver, 49-year old Terrell Lindsey of Omaha, died from injuries suffered in the crash shortly after arriving at a hospital.
Investigators say an unrestrained rear seat passenger in the Hyundai, 60-year old Laron Imani of Omaha, died at the scene.
The driver of the Dodge, 43-year old Chaz Booker, is in serious condition with a head injury.
