JR Payne lands two major transfers for Colorado Buffaloes

JR Payne is making moves for the Colorado Buffaloes women’s basketball team. After nearly making the NCAA Tournament in 2021, this team is returning a ton of talent and bringing in even more.
On Friday, two former Washington Huskies announced they would be transferring to CU, sophomore guard Tameiya Sadler and junior center Quay Miller. They were arguably the two best players on a Huskies squad that finished 11th in the conference, then knocked off the Buffs in the Pac-12 Tournament. The two women transferred after UW fired head coach Jody Wynn.
March always brings a touch of madness for fourth-year medical school students as they wait to hear if a residency program they seek to join also wants them.
Thereâs always the chance, though it has yet to happen at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, that a graduating student comes up empty.
On Monday, fourth years across the country will learn whether they matched with a program. If so, the students will need to wait until Friday to find out if itâs their top or bottom choice, or somewhere in between.
âIâm very nervous, not because our students didnât get enough interviews and not because Iâm worried about this class in particular. Itâs just that things are so different this year,â Dr. Aubrey Knight, senior dean of students, said. âIâm not sure the programs were able in this virtual world to see students as well. While I realize Iâm biased, I believe the more you get to know a VTC student, the better that student
Two Virginia Tech researchers and a Carilion physician who specializes in treating patients with memory decline are teaming up to look at whether caregivers of people with dementia face additional challenges if they are extended family members rather than spouses or adult children.
Tech professors Karen Roberto and Tina Savla and Dr. Aubrey Knight think that grandchildren, nieces, nephews, siblings and stepchildren might encounter different barriers, but they are not sure since there hasnât been much research on the topic.
They have won a $2.14 million, five-year grant from the National Institutes of Healthâs Institute on Aging to find out if these relatives have special needs.
