Apple announced it would establish a €1 billion ($1.19 billion) semiconductor research and development complex in Munich, Germany. The Big Tech firm will move into the 98,400 square foot state-of-the-art facility in late 2022.
The company intends its European Silicon Design Center to serve as the continent’s leading wireless chip and software hub.

Apple’s New German Chip R&D Center
Apple CEO Tim Cook said the corporation’s expansion would enable it to explore “the new frontiers of 5G.” It seeks to achieve that goal by hiring hundreds of engineers and equipping them with cutting-edge R&D equipment. It will fund the establishment of its latest site over the next three years.
