The strange symbol in this prototype is the lightning cable by Josh Atkinson
Interesting discoveries The app that regularly shares the app Demo An interesting little discovery from the Twitter account: Here are prototypes of lightning cables numbered PROTO4, with a logo on one side of the sheath that protects the connector electronics. This symbol is reminiscent of the current on the 30-pin connector (instead of lightning), which was used to indicate the insertion direction to the iPod and iPhone. Does this mean that you need to connect the lightning connector in a particular direction?
The prototype Apple Lightning Cables (PROTO4) engraved symbol is similar to the 30 pin cables (indicating the right side). # appleinternalpic.twitter.com/ORWuoPDmcm

New Lightning Cable Prototype Images Show Apple Might Have Been Testing a Non-Reversible Connector Feb 20, 2021 08:37 EST
If you remember Apple’s 30-pin connector, then you’ve been using the company’s products for a long time and therefore have seen the transition from this absurdly large input to a smaller Lightning interface. Apart from being minuscule in size, one other advantage is that the current-generation cable that you use every day features a reversible input. However, that wasn’t always the case, as Apple was apparently testing out one version that featured a non-reversible input, similar to USB-A cables.
