UK Investigates Apple App Store s Alleged Anti-Competitive Behavior; Developers Now Complaining

Apple unveiled a slew of new hardware and software updates at the company s annual developer conference which runs through June 15. According to Independent UK s latest report, the United Kingdom regulators new investigation will look into Apple App Store s behavior if it really abuses its power and making unfair activities that would prevent healthy competition against other developers.  However, U.K. s CMA (Competition and Markets Authority) said no final decision yet since the new antitrust investigation has just started. The agency added that it is still unclear if the tech giant s App Store really broke the law.

Apple announced a recall of an estimated 432,000 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops due to concerns of overheating batteries that could catch fire. The recall is for 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops sold between September 2015 and February 2017. According to 9to5Mac s latest report, Dustin Curtis, a popular designer, and investor was the one that experienced the issue. He said that his Apple ID was locked when the sequence of events meant that the Cupertino company was unable to collect his payment from his Apple Card. 

Apple Music and iTunes Down, But System Status Still Show All Services Operating

What Apple s System status says The tech giant s System Status states that all services are operating normally. However, if you will search iTunes on Downdetector, the website says that there are possible problems at iTunes. On the other hand, the website also confirmed that Apple Music has problems. The surge began at around 6:00 am in the morning this Feb 3. Downdetector also divided the issues that users are currently facing; 4% for Website problems, 8% for log-in issues, and 87% for Music streaming problems.   On the other hand, the website also found that users in the United Kingdom and Canada are also having the same network interference, and most of the issues are related to downloading songs. Although this is the case, sources said that the current network error doesn t affect users downloaded songs or local libraries.
