Police have arrested a woman in connection to a shooting that left one woman dead and another woman injured in New Haven on Tuesday night.
Emergency crews received a report of a person shot near the intersection of Legion Avenue and Auburn Street around 10 :15 p.m. When officers arrived, they said they found a woman who had been shot near a parked car and also detained 32-year-old Brianna Triplett, of West Haven, at the scene. ROCKFORD Newcomer Kamrin Muhammad is challenging Rockford School Board President Ken Scrivano for his seat on the board, which he’s held since 2011.
Scrivano is a retired respiratory therapist and hospital administrator. Muhammad is a recreation coordinator at Washington Park Community Center.
Muhammad has a 15-year-old son who attends Auburn High School. Scrivano’s grandchildren attend Rockford Public Schools.
Both candidates are seeking votes in subdistrict C, a geographic area on the city’s northwest side roughly bounded by Auburn Street, the Rock River and Meridian and Latham roads.
Schools within subdistrict C are Conklin, Welsh, West and West View.
