TIMERGARA: A gang of thieves has become active in Khema, Jabagai, Kandaro, Malikabad and other areas of Balambat, which has compelled the residents to spend sleepless nights.
Shakil, a resident of Khaima, told this scribe that youth at Khaima and Jabagai villages have started keeping watch
in their villages during night to avert any untoward incident.
He said two weeks ago, a thief barged into a house in Khema and took away Rs30000 cash.
Layaqzada, a resident of Jabagai, said his nephews Tariq and Adnan and former naib nazim village council Khema Mohkamin Khan escaped unhurt when a thief opened fire on them during the night at Jabagai.

LOWER DIR: About 90 per cent work on the under-construction Koto hydropower project (Koto-HPP) has been done and it will be completed by December this year, said assistant project director while briefing a team of the district administration.
The team, including deputy commissioner Aun Haider Gondal, Timergara assistant commissioner Tahir Ali and other officials, visited the project site here the other day.
Giving details, Koto-HPP assistant director Mohammad Shuaib said the powerhouse would generate 40.8MW of electricity that would be added to the national grid.

He said that the remaining 10 per cent work on the project would be completed by coming December. He said work on the power tunnel had been completed by the contractor before its stipulated time.

People highlight issue at Lower Dir open forum

TIMERGARA: Following directives of the provincial government, the Lower Dir district administration on Tuesday held an open forum at district council hall to address grievances of the public.
Deputy Commissioner, Lower Dir,r Captain (retd) Aun Haider Gondal, additional deputy commissioner, finance, Tariq Jamal, assistant commissioner Timergara Tahir Ali district health officer (DHO) Dr Nazeer Ahmad and other officials attended the event.
The public highlighted various issues, including unannounced power shutdown, encroachments in various bazaars, sale of drugs and narcotics in Timergara and Munda, poor sanitation in various bazaars, sale of sub-standard snacks in schools and bazaars.
Cleanliness drive in Timergara

PESHAWAR: On the directives of Deputy Commissioner Dir Lower Aun Haider Gondal, a cleanliness drive was launched in Talash and Timergara bazaars. A handout said that during the cleanliness campaign, mud, garbage and plastic bags were removed from drainage channel as well as from the bazaar. The drainages were cleared. Tehsil Municipal Officer Timergara Shakil Hayat supervised the drive.
