JAMMU, July 7: Former Sikh legislatures and other public representatives on behalf of entire Sikh community today demanded reservation of five seats for the minority Sikh community in J&K.
Former Sikh legislatures of J&K including- Harbans Singh, Tarlochan Singh Wazir, Manjit Singh, Arvinder Singh Micky, Charanjit Singh Khalsa and DDC Member, Taranjit Singh Tony while addressing a joint press conference in Jammu today, demanded reservation of three (3) Assembly seats in Jammu province and two (2) seats in Kashmir for the minority Sikh community in present delimitation process in J&K and said we have resolved to jointly put forth the aspirations of minority Sikh community before the visiting team of Delimitation Commission.

JAMMU, Jan 20: 354th Prakash Purab (Birth Anniversary) of 10th Guru of Sikhs, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji was celebrated with religious fervour and enthusiasm by the Sikh community across J&K UT today.
A grand function in this connection was organised at Gurdwara Yaadgar Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Chand Nagar Jammu besides all other local Gurdwaras of Jammu and other places.
The main programme was organised by the District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Jammu with the support of SGPB and other Sikh bodies, at Chand Nagar Gurdwara, under the patronage of Guru Granth Sahib. A large number of devotees besides religious heads from various places in the northern region participated in it. Pakistan s government may portray itself as the saviour of minorities and patt its back before the international community, but the reality is contrary to the hefty claims made by it with the continuous reports trickling from across the border about the atrocities being committed on minority communities especially Sikhs and Hindus.
Their young daughters are being abducted, forcefully converted to Islam and married to Muslim men, often elder ones, besides people of minority community being implicated in blasphemy cases often to settle personal scores with government agencies only providing supporting the majority Muslims.
