New Delhi, May 21 : The Supreme Court on Friday granted bail to rebel YSR Congress Parrty MP Kanumuri Raghurama Krishnam Raju in the sedition case registered against him by Andhra Pradesh Police.
A bench comprising Justices Vineet Saran and B.R. Gavai, citing the Army Hospital medical report, said that Raju was ill-treated in police custody. We are of the opinion that charges against the petitioner are not such where custodial interrogation is required, it noted.

The Supreme Court on Monday directed that YSR Congress MP K Raghu Rama Krishna Raju, who has been arrested by Andhra Pradesh Police in a sedition case over his critical remarks, be taken to Army Hospital, Secunderabad for medical examination with respect to allegations of custodial torture.
