No Entry for Inter-state Travellers From AP as Telangana Seals Borders

May 24, 2021, 12:41 IST HYDERABAD: With the Telangana police strictly enforcing the lockdown sanctions since Sunday, a large number of vehicles were stopped at the check posts on the Andhra Pradesh-Telangana border. To restrain travellers entering the state the police department has completely closed the check posts at four places at Suryapet district borders, including Redlakunta, Chinthalapalem and Mattampalli. Superintendent of Police R Bhaskaran instructed police personnel to enforce the restrictions strictly and said that except for emergency services like ambulances and essential commodities vehicles, other vehicles would not be allowed into the State from the border points at Mellcheruvu, Chinthalapalem, Mattampally and Palakeedu mandals, which are bordering mandals of Andhra Pradesh State.

Nari Sena Global Women Forum is an all-women service organization founded by Latha Chowdary Botla, who is a resident of Hyderabad. The organization has almost 8000 members from different parts of the country, who do social service. During the ongoing second coronavirus wave, the Nari Sena thought of providing healthy, hygienic and delicious food to Covid-19 patients and set up kitchens at the houses of the members. Almost 100 women are working for this program.

(Photo | EPS) By Express News Service KURNOOL/VIJAYAWADA: Tension prevailed at Andhra Pradesh-Telangana border in Kurnool and Krishna districts on Friday with Telangana police disallowing ambulances carrying Covid-19 patients into the neighbouring State. Family members of some Covid patients entered into an argument or pleaded with the Telangana police to let their ambulances go to Hyderabad.
