Situation in Andhra Pradesh-Telangana border not yet eased, ambulances are still detained at Telangana border.
Coming to the rescue of hundreds of covid patients, primarily from Andhra Pradesh, being turned away by Telangana police, at the state borders, the Telangana High Court, on Friday, issued orders staying the state government s guidelines on entry of covid ambulances from other states.
A Division Bench presided by Chief Justice Hima Kohli took up the matter for hearing after a retired IRS officer Venkata Krishna Rao filed a petition on Friday, that ambulances are being stopped or turned back, at the border, by Telangana Police.

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], May 14 (ANI): The Telangana High Court on Friday stayed the Telangana government s order to allow ambulances with patients coming from neighbouring states only if they have a prior appointment with hospitals and said the state does not have the right to stop the ambulances and everyone has the right to save their lives as per Article 21 of the Indian Constitution.
The High Court was hearing the issue of ambulances to Hyderabad being stopped at inter-state borders in Telangana.
Andhra Pradesh Government impleaded in the hearing of the petition. Andhra Pradesh Advocate General S Sriram argued on behalf of the state government. Telangana High Court Chief Justice heard the objections raised by the Andhra Pradesh Government.
