Inoculation for people above the age of 18 is not possible in AP due to vaccine shortage

In the last three days, AP has received three lakh doses of Covishield and one lakh doses of Covaxin
Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government cannot administer the Covid-19 vaccine to people aged 18 to 45 years old from May 1st due to inadequate supply. However, the ongoing programme to the already targeted beneficiaries with the current doses will continue.
Unlike the previous practice of establishing Covid Vaccination Centers and setting a time schedule between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to start a vaccination campaign for healthcare professionals, frontline workers, and people aged 45 to 60 years, no such plans have been made for Saturday. However, people between the ages of 18 and 45 are still registering for the vaccine on the CoWIN website.

VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh state government on Sunday received two lakh Covishield vaccine doses from Serum Institute of India (SII) Pune.
The state has eight lakh vaccine doses and from Monday the vaccination doses will be administered to beneficiaries across the state through PHCs, CHCs, area hospitals and district Covid hospitals and a few designated private hospitals.
The Andhra Pradesh government has announced it has no stock of COVID-19 vaccine left even as Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy wrote another letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting that 60 lakh doses be immediately sent to the state.

Vijayawada: Lack of proper distribution of Covid-19 vaccine doses among vaccination centres seems to be resulting in short supply in some districts in the state.
