Classic City Eats has new hours
The new Watkinsville location of a once local favorite opened its doors last week. Classic City Eats is open Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday until 10 p.m. for both takeout and dine-in. There are some new menu items â like flatbreads and sliders â but there are staples known from the former Baxter Street location, too.
A 76-year-old Athens woman died of injuries sustained in a car crash on Gaines School Road at Barrington Place on Saturday, according to an Athens-Clarke County Police Department press release.
The woman, Gail Wilder, was a passenger in a Toyota Highlander that collided with a Mercedes E320. Police are still investigating the crash, according to the release.
This was the ninth fatal motor vehicle accident in Athens in 2021.
76-year-old dies in Athens car crash, police say

Authorities said ACCPD officers responded to a two-car accident on Gaines School Road and Barrington Place.
Police said 76-year-old Gail Wilder, from Athens, died after being rushed to the hospital.
Police said a 2003 Mercedes E320 with one occupant collied with a 2019 Toyota Highlander carrying four occupants.
Police said Wilder was in the Highlander.
The crash investigation is ongoing, officials said.
This is the ninth fatal crash this year in Athens-Clarke County, police said.

Agua Linda has a food truck
The brick and mortar on Prince Avenue remains closed for some serious renovations, but Agua Lindaâs food truck, La Carreta, has you covered. The limited menu still has tacos, cheese dip and empanadas, among other customer favorites. Customers can find the truck parked right beside the restaurant with additional covered and heated seating. La Carreta announced delivery on Jan. 18 through Bulldawg Food and also has online ordering.
