The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency has announced the arrest of Richard Fitts, 60, of South Paris, for Aggravated Trafficking in Cocaine.
Agents from the MDEA Western District Task Force, assisted by South Paris Police, Norway Police and Maine State Police, executed a search warrant at 52 Durgin Rd. in South Paris. The execution of the search warrant was part of an ongoing investigation involving the illegal trafficking of cocaine in and around the Oxford Hills area by Richard Fitts.
During the investigation agents and officers conducted surveillance of Fitts’ residence at 52 Durgin Rd. Several motor vehicle stops were conducted in the area. These stops were connected to subjects coming from Fitts’s residence where cocaine was purchased.

PARIS The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested a Paris man who was reportedly in possession of 119 grams of cocaine, more than $200,000 in cash and more than 125 firearms.

Richard Fitts, 60, of 52 Durgin Road was charged with aggravated trafficking of cocaine, a Schedule W drug.
The MDEA Western District Task Force executed a search warrant of Fitts’ residence on Durgin Road as part of an ongoing investigation involving the trafficking of cocaine in the Oxford Hills area.

Officials say firefighters were called to the home on 172 Tiger Hill Road shortly before 8 a.m. Saturday. Investigators say once the flames were out, responders found a man’s body inside the home. The body is believed to be that of 65-year-old Michael Murphy, who lived there.Firefighters from Oxford and Mechanic Falls Fire Departments were called to the scene along with the Mechanic Falls Police Department and the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department.An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
