YOUNGSTOWN Yarnell Green Jr., 30, one of the four adults who was shot Sept. 21 the same morning 4-year-old Rowan Sweeney was slain testified Friday that Brandon Crump was the person who shot Green.
That testimony contradicted testimony from a Struthers police detective, who said Green told him Kimonie Bryant, 24, was the shooter.
The testimony came at a hearing before Judge Theresa Dellick of Mahoning County Juvenile Court to help her decide whether the evidence shows probable cause that Crump, now 18, committed aggravated robbery of Green the day Rowan was killed. Crump was 17 at the time of the shootings.
If Dellick decides there is probable cause that Crump committed the robbery, the next step will be to transfer the case to adult court. At the end of Friday’s hearing, the judge said she will announce her decision later.
