After last night’s nail-biter, Oregon State grabs a solid victory.

Oregon State grabbed their ninth win in a row, and a series clinching victory, with a 5-3 win over the BYU Cougars Friday evening. The win moves the Beavers up to 9-1 this season.

Oregon State grabbed a lead in the bottom of the first, when a Troy Claunch grounder scored Preston Jones. BYU responded in the top of the second, when a wild pitch allowed Jacob Rogers to reach home, giving the Cougars their first run of the series.
Olympic overview: Cross country teams sweep WCC championships, men’s volleyball makes history
The BYU cross country teams continued their sustained excellence with first-place finishes at the West Coast Conference championships and several other BYU teams were in action around the country.
Cross country
Both the men’s and women’s cross country teams took first place in the WCC championships on Feb. 24. The titles marked a six-year streak for the men’s team and a three-year streak for the women’s team.
The men’s team had a score of 25 in the first-place finish with six Cougars finishing in the top 10.

Koenig Among Latest Rox Signings

Koenig is a junior at SCSU who will be returning to the Rox for a third season in 2021. The tall lefty was a Northwoods League All Star and Rox Pitcher of the Year during the 2019 season.
Over 79.2 innings spanning two seasons, Koenig has a 2.49 earned run average and a 7-1 record. He was a 40th round draft pick of the Milwaukee Brewers during his senior year at Tech.
Also returning for encores at Joe Faber Field this summer are catcher Cody Kelly of the University of Minnesota, infielder Andrew Pintar of BYU and Nate Swarts of Washington State University.
