The Men’s EHF EURO 2022 qualifiers continue with nine matches set to be played mid-week, from Tuesday to Thursday.
Among the headliners are newly crowned world champions Denmark, World Championship runners-up Sweden, and a new but very recognisable coach for North Macedonia: Kiril Lazarov.
In the EHF EURO Cup, Slovakia play their first game in the competition as they meet EHF EURO title holders Spain.

It was one of the craziest stories of recent years. Andy Schmid, one of the best playmakers in European and global handball looked set to never compete at a World Championship.
In 2020, the star of Rhein-Neckar Löwen had steered Switzerland to an EHF EURO after a 14-year absence and finally, in 2021, the 37-year-old had his first appearance on the global stage.
Last year, at the EHF EURO 2020, he had scored 15 goals in the match against Poland, and Switzerland won 31:24. Even though they had missed the main round, this victory was worth gold as they finished 16th.

Denmark defeated Sweden 26-24 in the finals of 2021 World Men’s Handball Championship at the Cairo Stadium Sports Hall to emphatically retain their status as World Champions. The first half was an even contest and ended at 13-13. 16 minutes into the second half, Denmark took the lead, Denmark goalkeeper Niklas Landin made some outstanding saves to maintain the lead. Denmark joined Sweden, Romania and France in the team’s list that claimed the World Championship title two times respectively.
The Danish legend Mikkel Hansen was named the MVP, Most Valuable Player Award, after leading his country to a second world title in a row. The 33-year-old scored 48 goals in seven games and assisted in 26 more goals. He was phenomenal in the semi-finals and the finals. This is the 4
