Catherine Opie, UCLA’s Lynda and Stewart Resnick Professor of Art, has been appointed chair of the UCLA Department of Art. The world-renowned photographer begins the new post on Sept. 1. Opie’s appointment comes after nearly four years of service by artist and professor Andrea Fraser.
“It is a huge honor to assume the role of chair for the department of art and to continue working alongside the amazing UCLA Arts community,” Opie said. “I have been associated with the department for 25 years 20 of those as a tenured faculty member and I cannot imagine a more critical or optimistic time to be leading the department forward.”

Stop Painting is now open at Fondazione Prada Venice

.- Stop Painting is an exhibition conceived by artist Peter Fischli on view at the historic palazzo of Ca Corner della Regina, Fondazione Pradas Venetian venue, from 22 May to 21 November 2021.
Described by Peter Fischli as a kaleidoscope of repudiated gestures, the project explores a series of specific ruptures within the history of painting in the last 150 years, intertwined with the emergence of new social factors and cultural values. The exhibition also projects itself into the dimensions of the present and the future. It intends to understand if a further development is taking place today and if the current digital revolution can also cause a new crisis of painting or, on the contrary, contribute to its renewal.

Cannabis Co. Auxly Raises $8M By Selling Units With ATB Capital Markets Inc. As The Only Agent
Auxly Cannabis Group Inc. (TSX:XLY) (OTCQX:CBWTF) completed an $8 million private placement offering of units, with ATB Capital Markets Inc. acting as the only agent.
Under the offering, the vertically-integrated cannabis company issued 23.88 million units of the company with a price of $0.335 per unit.
Each unit consisted of one share of the company and one-half of one share purchase warrant. Each warrant enables the holder thereof to buy one share at a price of $0.42 per share in the following 36 months upon the closing of the offering.
