The United Way for Spoon River Country has been selected by local Hy-Vee store leadership as the benefiting non-profit in the Canton, Illinois Red Bag Program for the month of August! The Reusable Red “My Heart” Bag Program is designed to give back to the local community with every reusable bag purchased. Every $2.50 reusable Reusable Red “My Heart” Bag sold supports a non-profit local to the store in which it was purchased. This program offers a way for shoppers to give back as part of the regular weekly routine. Launched at a function at the Mountain Club on Wednesday night, this year’s awards feature new categories to recognise the challenging environment local businesses have operated in over the past 16 months. Normally held biennially, due to Covid the last awards were held in 2018.
