CANTON This year, local community non-profits are more in need of support than in any other time in the recent years’ past. Now shoppers can give back to the local community and help to reduce single-use plastics by purchasing a special reusable bag at Canton Hy-Vee. The United Way for Spoon River Country has been selected by local Hy-Vee store leadership as the benefiting non-profit in the Canton, Illinois Red Bag Program for the month of August! The Reusable Red “My Heart” Bag Program is designed to give back to the local community with every reusable bag purchased. Every $2.50 reusable Reusable Red “My Heart” Bag sold supports a non-profit local to the store in which it was purchased. This program offers a way for shoppers to give back as part of the regular weekly routine. GALESBURG Hy-Vee, Inc., in partnership with Loving Bottoms Diaper Bank and Hello Bello, is participating in the April Showers of Diapers Drive through the end of April. The Diaper Drive includes fundraising efforts at select Hy-Vee store locations where customers can donate at checkout by “rounding up” their purchase, which will provide diapers for families in need throughout West Central Illinois. “Diaper drives are vital to our operations and have become increasingly critical in supplying products to our clients,” said Lee Ann Porter, founder and executive director of Loving Bottoms Diaper Bank. “When caregivers stand in the diaper aisle they are quickly reminded of the compounding expense of diapers with each trip to the grocery store. Our goals in partnering with Hy-Vee and Hello Bello are to ease the financial burden of local families, raise community awareness of diaper need, and meet the already high demand for diapers throughout West Central Illinois

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA Hy-Vee, Inc. announced that it will offer rapid antigen COVID-19 testing at 47 Hy-Vee pharmacy locations via an outdoor, drive-thru testing process. The first 18 locations began testing Thursday, Dec. 10 with the additional 28 locations scheduled to begin testing over the next two weeks. Patients will receive same day test results in as little as 1-2 hours after completing the test.
Cost for the test varies by location. At this time, Hy-Vee is only accepting testing payment by credit or debit card at the testing site. Patients must register ahead of time through www.hy-vee.com/covidtesting to schedule a testing time and location and to receive a test voucher number to bring to their appointment. During registration, patients will be able to view the testing cost for their location.
