Della Myers, longtime foster grandmother in Kansas City, Kansas, dies at 80 Bill Lukitsch, The Kansas City Star
Apr. 11 Nearly every school day, Della Myers would rise early to catch the public city bus over to W.A. White Elementary where the children knew her as Grandmother Della.
For more than 13 years, Myers worked as a volunteer foster grandmother with at-risk and special needs children in the Kansas City Kansas Public Schools system. It was a job she treasured and what she was most proud of during the time she was able to serve, said John Myers, her only son and the elder of her two children.

RINCON The City of Rincon is getting ready to wade into a stormwater management plan.
On Jan. 25, Mayor Pro Tem Patrick Kirkland and Councilmembers Freddy Long and Ann Daniels listened to a presentation by Wayne Burcham of Geosyntec, a consulting and engineering firm that helps clients address environmental and infrastructure problems.
TWELVE women from across the UK have committed to undertaking a life-changing expedition in a bid to raise awareness of climate change. Steph Batey, from Mold is just one woman who has committed herself to the challenge and take part in the life-changing experience. Steph said what inspired her the most was hearing that the summer sea ice in the Arctic is disappearing. She said the latest prediction is that the Arctic ocean could be completely ice free by 2035 in the summer months which is a ‘terrifying thought’, and why she is so passionate about raising awareness of the impact of climate change.
