One of the all-time greats in Cork - saluting the career of a nine-time All-Ireland winner
The42 looks back on the inter-county career of Cork legend Gemma O’Connor. By Sinead Farrell Thursday 1 Apr 2021, 8:00 PM Thu 8:00 PM 21,796 Views 4 Comments
AT THE END of it all, it seems there isn’t one game that can sum her up.
Nine All-Ireland medals and a record 11 All-Stars in both attacking and defensive positions goes some way towards illustrating her distinction. But it still only scratches the surface of Gemma O’Connor’s imprint on camogie.

KILKENNY MANAGER BRIAN Dowling got the phonecall he feared might be coming shortly after Christmas.
He had managed to coax her back into the squad last year, and was hopeful that a split season might encourage her to postpone any retirement plans in 2021.
But by the end of 2020, with a second All-Ireland medal in her pocket, Anne Dalton had made up her mind.

Collette Dormer showed us what joy is all about as she lit up our TV screens on Saturday evening from Croke Park.
Dormer, who plays with Barrow Rangers club, was part of the Kilkenny senior camogie team who won the Sean O’Duffy Cup for a 14th time after the Cats beat Galway in a gripping All-Ireland final.
After missing out on glory in the last three All-Ireland finals, Kilkenny deserved this win - the sweetest one of all in such a unique year. Kilkenny have been in every final since 2013, except 2015 when it was Cork against Galway – their two main rivals.
