Contributed STEUBENVILLE The Ohio Valley Health Center, located at 423 South St., Steubenville, is offering a free colorectal cancer screening program to individuals who are either uninsured or underinsured. The announcement was made by Ann Quillen, the health center’s executive director. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, colorectal cancer, as of 2020, is the fourth leading cause of death in the United States. If detected early, however, the five-year survival is 90 percent. Individuals who are 50 to 75 years old and have no family history of colorectal cancer are deemed to be at average risk for the disease and should be screened, Quillen explained.

Cardinal Wealth Management donates to health center | News, Sports, Jobs

Contributed The Ohio Valley Health Center at 423 South St., Steubenville, recently received a $1,000 donation from Cardinal Wealth Management LLC. Because of COVID 19 restrictions, Cardinal Wealth could not host its traditional Christmas open house this year, and as a business, decided to donate the party funds to the health center in honor of their clients and in memory of Dr. John Metcalf, a longtime volunteer at OVHC. Their gift will help OVHC fulfill its mission to “provide high quality health care to the uninsured and underinsured of the Ohio Valley,” explained Ann Quillen, the center’s executive director who expressed appreciation for the generous donation.
