Local fire crews battled a first-alarm structure fire that damaged a UC Davis storage facility Thursday afternoon.
According to campus spokesman Andy Fell, the fire broke out around 2:30 p.m. in the outbuilding on Hutchison Drive near Olive Tree Lane, which was being used to store old office equipment.
“The fire was extinguished, but the building appeared to be quite badly damaged,” Fell said, adding that the cause of the fire is under investigation.
