Fiscal depute Christine Allan said: “The accused presented a number of items and also presented a £20 note. “They believed it was counterfeit. As a means of testing this, one of the witnesses began to rip the note. Due to the way the note ripped; the witness believed it was counterfeit. “The accused became angry and asked why he ripped the note. “He shouted: ‘Why did you rip the note? You don’t know who I am’.”

Kevin Spokes threatened to burn down Umar’s Convenience Store on Pitkerro Road before using a racist slur towards Umar and Khezer Hayat. The Ballantrae Road man has been placed on an electronic tag after previously pleading guilty at Dundee Sheriff Court. A church volunteer who knocked out a pal who bit his finger while trying to chomp into a McDonald’s burger also launched a half-naked tirade towards police. Andrew Taylor, 50, briefly knocked Bruce Wilkinson unconscious after punching him in the Reform Street restaurant in 2019. The drunken pair had spent the night in several pubs in Dundee before the early morning incident. Dundee Sheriff Court heard Taylor had been trying to feed Mr Wilkinson some of the burger – bought with the last of their drinking money – but ended up having his finger bitten as a result.
