Father Christmas delivers new MRI Scanner to the hospital

FATHER Christmas and his elves made an extra special delivery to Salisbury District Hospital today, delivering a brand new MRI scanner. Instead of a sleigh, Father Christmas drove a crane and delivered the scanner through the roof into a brand new MRI scanner suite made possible by funds raised by The Stars Appeal the hospital charity The delivery of the scanner is the result of a joint working project between the Stars Appeal and Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, with the first of two new MRI scanners arriving at the hospital today. A second scanner, funded by the Stars Appeal, is due to arrive later in 2021.

Salisbury Hospital receives £3 4m to improve facilities

Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust has been awarded £3.4million to upgrade the hospital s facilities. The funding is a portion of the £45.8million awarded to 21 NHS trusts in the South West to fund 199 maintenance projects. These include new or refurbished buildings to deliver key services, replacing hospital lifts, upgrading electrical infrastructure, work to improve fire safety and enhancing ventilation systems. Salisbury District Hospital has received £3.4million, including £1.3million for water system upgrades. Andy Hyett, Chief Operating Officer at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust said: We’re really pleased to receive this funding as it will be used to carry out essential repairs across the hospital.
