Yellow weather warning for ice in Penarth, Barry & the Vale

TOMORROW will be an icy start across the Vale. Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice tomorrow morning (Saturday, February 6) in the Vale of Glamorgan, including in Penarth. Difficult driving conditions may arise from this, as there will be icy patches - with a possibility of the less visible black ice - on roads, pavements and cycle paths. When roads are icy it s recommended to avoid travel, but this is not always possible. When driving in icy conditions it s recommended to slow down and allow extra room for other road users. RAC spokesman, Ben Aldous, said: For anyone who has to drive, we’d strongly advise making sure their vehicle is ready for the cold.

The forecaster’s two yellow-level alerts for our region now cover a 93-hour period between 3pm on Saturday and noon on Wednesday. The latest alert says “snow showers may lead to disruption to travel in places” though some areas may avoid them.
