Video from Sky 4 showed light white smoke in the area. “There is a red flag-burning ban with the state and this wind and the humidity is not good for burning at all this time of year, Lt. Scott Covert, with the Williford Fire Department, said. The fires are going to spread easy and they’re harder to control, with the wind off the lake, especially down here.”

1 person dead in Madison County single-vehicle crash

Updated: 7:25 AM EDT April 8, 2021 The Madison County Sheriff s Department is investigating a deadly crash that happened Thursday morning. According to officials, a Black 1998 Honda Accord was driving on Country Road 300 North shortly before 2:30 a.m. and went off the road and hit a tree near the County Road 500 West intersection. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger in the car was taken to the hospital. Their condition is unknown at this time. Officials have not released the driver s identity. Madison County EMA, Frankton Fire Department and Anderson Fire Department assisted the Madison County Sheriff s Department at the scene.
